An unexpected break in our afternoon presentation was that a number of Kenyans had walked the equivalent of a 20 minute drive to pick up their allotment of Canadian Wheat. It was an emotional time for many of us as 50-60 (mostly ladies) accepted bags of wheat with the Canadian Food grains Bank logo on each bag. It was explained that this wheat was earned by working in the Food for Work program. Everyone who worked ont he sand dam received 2 Kg of Wheat for a days work.
